Details
Upon arrival at your venue, it’s a great opportunity for the you and bridal party to freshen up. During this time, we will be setting up lights and capturing details of your venue. After setup and the details, we'll capture candids of the cocktail hour
TIP: If you want a clear shot of your venue, arrange the cocktail hour in a different room than the reception room. This allows us to capture all the details you meticulously planned for your reception!
During the reception, we recommend having us seated with the guests so we are ready to photograph when needed (vs in separate rooms, it's hard to hear what's going on). We typically eat while the guests are eating so we are properly fuelled when other elements of the night begin.
Reception tips:
- keep it moving: ensure you have a coordinator or MC that keeps the evening flowing on time
- make it your own: incorporate unique personal elements into your evening. If you love music, get some live music going on!
- decor: the best backdrops and head tables are not overly busy and distracting
- the first dance: I normally photograph majority of the first dance directly across from the guests. It's a much nicer backdrop with smiling guests vs an empty head table with dirty dishes on it. If you have a choreographed dance, keep this in mind!
